Kato Husein Semakula, Uganda

Please leave prayers or words of encouragement for Kato in the comments section below:

Kato Husein Semakula is 24 years old. He was attacked on the 18th of March, 2017, by his girlfriend, from whom he had separated.  As he was coming home from work one evening, two men grabbed him, held him, and his girlfriend poured acid onto him. She was later arrested and remains at the Luzira prison awaiting a conviction.

Kato has recently undergone an operation on his eye, which was blinded as a result of the acid attack. He’s in extreme and constant pain.  Although he welcomed EAV’s visit, it was difficult for him to speak because he is in so much pain. Kato is currently staying with his sister at Nansana Ganda, a suburb of Kampala.

He is calling upon the Interfaith Prayer Team to pray for him to heal and get back to his normal life. He is struggling right now, sharing the limited resources available to him and his sister.

Words can’t express how my heart
    breaks for you…please know that
you are loved. I offer up this prayer from the Holy Scriptures of the Baha’i Faith, in the spirit of that love.
“Thy Name is my healing, O my God, and remembrance of Thee is my remedy. Nearness to Thee is my hope, and love for Thee is my companion. Thy mercy to me is my healing and my succor in both this world and the world to come. Thou, verily, art the All-Bountiful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.”

  31. Hello Kato. I am so sorry to hear of your having become yet another victim of the senseless act of acid violence. I know that you are enduring great pain but please know that there are people worldwide praying for a release from the pain and for a healing of your body, mind and spirit. The great healer, Jesus Christ, knows of your suffering and understands it better than any of us, as he underwent unspeakable torture to the point of His death. And His death freed us all from the torment of sin and from the world’s injustice. Please remain strong in your faith and keep praying, not only for your healing but for God’s forgiveness of the woman that harmed you. Forgiveness in your heart will help greatly in the healing of your mind and spirit. Hopefully, she and others like her will come to Christ and help in stopping acid violence from continuing. May God bless you Kato. Love, Tom Moore,Butler,PA, U.S.A.

Your word assures us that when two agree together as touching anything on earth or in heaven, believing, it will be done. It is never your will that we suffer and Kato is suffering.
